Scanning puzzles require you to find objects hidden in pictures. This puzzle's rings are independent of each other, so just line them up using the center piece to make it correctly. Head down into the theater properly from the roadside and make a left as soon as you can, where you'll find a glyph that looks like two fingerprints on top of each other.
